Has anybody ever swapped from the 3 lever panel to the 4 lever panel??? What would I have to actually change? I can run extra cables if I need to do so, I just need to know where to start.....
I need to see photos of the rear of them to be sure the top photo looks like a vacuum motor control unit .It only has temp cable rest use vacuum motors to control the dampers.
The bottom photo is what I have installed into my 89 F250 It has two cables one for temp and other controls the dampers. The only vacuum motor is the AC rec(outside air).
If you have all vacuum motor dampers and want to convert over to the cable dampers, you will have to use the cable drive air box as they are different.
As I recall the twin cable controller was a one year wonder from 1987, in 88 Ford went to vacuum motor controls. I just happened to have a 87 to part out for my 89 and swapped it all over.

Went out to look. My ‘87 Bronco has the control panel shown in the bottom picture.
Nothing to add but curious what you hope to accomplish by doing this? Are you doing this just to have control over when the compressor operates?

My 89 F250 AC controls were messed up badly from a previous owner hacking the vacuum lines and removed vacuum servos too. So I went with a 87 AC control and air box.
The bonus is you can turn the AC compressor on AND off in all modes including air recir mode. I also can turn off blower motor and turn on AC compressor and use ram air effect on cooler days when lower blower speed it little too much for my liking.
Downfall with the cable controlled dampers is that 30+ year old plastic will break and I had to use some creative zip tying to hold the damper cable to controller. Keeping those damper levers cleaned and lubed will help out.
