two-tone for my '56 panel!

I hope it's ok and the owner doesn't mind that I "borrowed" this pic from another website to use here but dang this is a nice '56 Panel and confirms for me that I want my '56 Panel to be two-tone. Maybe not green & white though. The original color on mine was very light blue, so I'm thinking a darker blue & off white, like maybe Wimbeldon (sic) white, a Ford color for years.

Is this the panel you're talking about, I like the color, it is a very nice panel..makes it look like a pickup with a cap on it. Panels have the best body lines..

So true!

I think it is not only the two tone, ... it is also the sign graphics. Imagine it without the sign, kind of plain huh?

I wish I had the know-how to photoshop, or paint , or whatever to make one medium blue with an off-white, almost cream colored top. I'd like to see what mine would look like. Might have to see if my grandson will do it for me?
I think this is the only way a Panel looks good two-toned. In other way the colors are split just doesn't do it for me.
And I think I'd like Piggly-Wiggly grocery store graphics on mine. Just seems like a cool store.

That truck looks fantastic. You can really see what a unibody would have looked like in this era.

That's the only problem with this two-tone scheme looking good, it encourages some people to cut up a Panel and make a '53-56 uni-body pickup. I hate to see a Panel cut to make a pickup. If you want a pickup, build a pickup! My2 cents worth, your mileage may vary and opinions are like belly buttons, everybodys got one and most stink.

True. And I wouldn't advocate cutting up a panel. I do wish they had a factory unibody, though.

Thanks bobj49f2! That's what I had in mind! Mine won't have low profile tires on it. I like a little more rubber between me & the road.My wheels are old school aluminum slots. Otherwise I LOVE it. Reckon I need to get permission from the Piggly Wiggly company first?

My wheels & tires.

I think it might a good thing to ask or you just spend the money, get it lettered and see what happens. What the worst that happen? They'll just tell you to remove it, at your expense.

I have post-war 1950's US Coast Guard insignia and lettering on my truck. I thought that might be a problem, because I did my best to make what I have an exact copy of the official military markings. I was told, however, that since the CG changed their insignia and markings on vehicles a number of times over the years, I would be alright. I wonder if the Piggly Wiggly logo and paint scheme Bob has come up with is obsolete and would be okay to use? Does Piggly Wiggly even have stores anymore?

I have two Piggly Wiggly stores within 10 miles of me owned by the same company. Did a quick search and it looks like they used the same basic logo for almost ever.

There are still some some Piggly Wiggly stores around in the southeast. I'm thinking I might put the artwork on magnetic background material. I did that on signage for a '56 F100 pickup that I had and it worked great, and was barely detectable as "stick-on".
