2016 explorer limited - multiple symptoms, perhaps one problem
my explorer has been fantastic until the last 2 weeks.
1. the chime has started sounding every time i get in or shut off the vehicle, as if it's in drive but it's not.
2. the infotainment has reset several times during drives
3. the rear air randomly stops for a few seconds and then restarts.
4. the driver seat used to automatically go to last used position after start button is pressed. now i have to actually select the preset (only 1 preset is being used)
5. the passenger cooled/heated seat function doesn't work. i can hear the fan running on the driver side when that function is selected, not on the passenger side. this one is probably not related to the others.
the first 4 seem to be electrical and possibly related to a single root cause. any advice?
also, the driver heated/cooled seat function is weak. i have read this is an issue for the 2016 model. any experience with that? something a diy kind of person can replace?
Do you have a code reader of any type? Obviously a higher end model, like a Snap-On would be better, but any Autozone, or O'reily's can scan your vehicle for free with their basic ones. Those usually won't turn up much, but it couldn't hurt! It definitely sounds like it's an electrical issue, that is causing all of those. I don't have any guidance as to what it could be causing it. I do have a 2016, but haven't experienced any of those issues. Good luck, and please follow up with whatever the fix was!
