I think I have a problem with my fuse panel. I have no power to my radio or heater. I took the fuse panel off the firewall and checked for loose connections. The radio and heater both powered on but a minute later they were gone. I put it back together and now also lost turn signals. I took the panel off again and now the wire to the turn signals broke off from the back of the panel. Any suggestions?
After 55 years there is going to be some problems.
The wires will get brittle and you start moving them they can break like it did.
I don't know if you can get a replacement part to put that wire back on to and in the box or not?
If you try and replace the box with new you still have old brittle wires that can be an issue.
Think this is why people replace all the wiring with an after market one.
Maybe someone has a fix for you?
Good luck

Agree that replacement is probably the best option. Mine isn't quite as bad as what you are describing, but I have a new panel for mine anyhow and will be adding relays to take the load off of the ignition and headlight circuits. I just have to get the rest of the wire. I'm wanting to put a decent sound system in as well as get rid a few intermittent problems that happen every so often. It will probably be this years winter project. I've looked at the kits, but fortunately I have mostly good wiring.
Anyone know where to source a replacement fuse panel? I can't find an original one on LMC or CJ pony, would a generic box from a local parts store work? I'm not too concerned with originality, just want to restore function.
I had the same problem and read somewhere the fuse panel is not a traditional panel we see in cars today, where electricity comes in and is distributed, rather it is a fuse junction block.
Simply a location where your fuses are housed in one location
The wires enter powered at some point, meaning they are constant or powered when when ignition is turned on.
i ordered off of Amazon a 12v fuse block and are several to choose from including sizes
the key is to look at the back of your fuse panel and you will see where a wire enters and either connects to another or possibly connects to two and follow that pattern.
You will have to use jumper wires at times.
This way you can use modern blade fuses

Not long ago, I discovered that the OE-style glass tube fuses can be difficult to locate too - the local parts store had to order them! I now carry a few spares in the glove box.....
