more power
O.K. I just bought a 1970 F250 with a 390 C-6, The motor is in good shape very clean and runs good no oil consumption, tuned it up, bumped the timing up, tomorrow I will service the tranny.
Now the qeustion is why does this thing seem less powerful then my brothers 1968 390 which led a harder life, or my other brothers 1973 390, the 68 had full length headers and factory two barrel, and the 73 had a cast iron four barrel intake with a 750 and manifolds with duals.
My theroy is I still have the single exhaust and manifolds headers as soon as I finish soaking the bolts for awhile, and The previous owner said he rebuilt the carb and it looks like it, like I said it runs good but isnt as snappy as other 390's I have driven although it is in better shape could the carb and exhaust hold it back that much? it feels like the carb too me it just seems like the motor cant breath
