Unless you have a lot of time on your hands or just want to fix this specific truck I would find a donor that is solid.
Replacing panels and cutting out old medal and replacing it with new is the only way to fix it with any longevity.
There is not cheap or easy way to properly fix rust. If I am looking for a project I will spend 5k on a solid car/truck vs take a free car/truck this is a rust bucket.
Wow. That has been eaten right through. Is that all the way around the bed, cab, doors and fenders? If so, that would take a whole donor truck or a lot of cutting and welding. Ive never done any body work but I have some replacement doors and fenders for my truck project and two floor boards I have to cut out and replace.
Does this particular truck have any special history or meaning or is this a truck that you are considering buying? If you don't own it, I wouldn't consider it. If you do own it you may want to look for a replacement as the time, effort, and expense will be much greater than a suitable replacement. You can save anything but you have to consider the value - even if it is an emotional attachment. I thought my truck was pretty clean but have many hours in small rust repairs that I hadn't expected.
Might make a good drag race truck, though. There has been a lot of weight removed that in the past would have required an acid dip.
There is only one way to get rid of rust . Cut it out and replace it with new metal,But Not any metal from lmc. Don't ask me how I know this.

I can't believe you just called Whitey a rust bucket. Anyway, I don't think its really that bad, its been blasted and shot with epoxy primer.
NSAJMART Nowhere in my post did I call "Whitey" a rust bucket .I just told you the right way to fix rust and to give you a heads up about metal from lmc.
Sorry lilorbie, I didn't mean to include your quote. But its still okay, she is kinda rusty though ) I appreciate everyone's help and advice.
I was not trying to offend. My truck it beat to hell so bad if wanted to make it nice I would be hunting down a donor. I am ok with it the way it is. It has earned its scars.
I was just trying to get across rust work is work. There are always multiple projects for sale where someone has cut the floors out or quarter off and has stopped and is trying to sell. Not saying you can't do it but just trying to get across it will be a lot of work.
I agree with the others above. Body work is a LOT of work. I just started on my 67 hood and it is way more time consuming than I originally thought. I have three days into it and probably have another week before I'm done - originally figured it was a weekend project. Now I'm afraid to take any of the paint off other places on the truck for fear of what I'll find underneath.
One nice thing on Whitey, I think new fenders are pretty easy to get. Not sure about the other parts.
Good luck.
On body panels look at http://tabcoparts.com/ I used them for my 81 F100 for floors, rockers, cab corners, lower rear door posts and the lower inner & outer left door and was vary happy with them.
They are right the only way to get rid of rust is to cut it out. After you have the panels welded in place you should also use some type of rust converter on any surface rust you come across.
I have found East Wood has some good products for fight rust and depending where the rust is will use different things.
Oh I have had training in body work start to finish. I don't mind the metal work its the body filler I hate!
But I do love the out come after 4 years
