There was a tsb on these getting wet in ambulances. I never could actually read the tsb but my hunch is they need to be covered from water rolling down the windshield.
on Redford i used a pc of flashing from the box store. Drilled 2 holes for the fender bolts and used those to hold it on. I did fold over the top corner so it did cut up the supposed seal. Also used some silicone on rh top side.
