Here is my 88 F150 - Repainted at Maaco in Dallas in 2001. This is my $650 truck. The paint job cost $695 which included a "sprayed in bedliner" which turned out to be nothing but black paint. But the picture shows the rest of the story.
The picture is large - I wanted to show as much detail as possible.
Sorry, I just took this since reading this post, and didn't have time to wash and wax it.
MAACO can do good paint...if you pay them to do good paint. If you try to get it cheap, they will NOT do good prep work, they won't put their best paintslinger on it, and you won't be happy..I have seen some amazing paint come out of a MAACO, but it was expensive...
Good tips above, but to reiterate a point...it really depends on the outlet you go to, and how much you spend. For years around here the Miracle Auto Paint place was the go to place and Maaco was laughed off. Owners changed and the situation was reversed. So go get opinions locally. Call your insurance company, sometimes they have good insights for good local jobbers. And don't forget the BBB.
Sometimes good guys from expensive/quality places will shoot your car on the weekend. Or, they go out and start their own business placing themselves somewhere between the Maacos and the hotshots.
