Automatic column shifter problem
I just bought a 79 150. I’m working on all the mechanical issues and one of the problems is the gear shifter is to smooth it’s not nauchy like it should be. I half to move the shifter around to find the right gear. Can it be fixed or should I just get another one?

Check the the linkage where it hooks up to thw transmission shifter for slop and adjust the hardware there. Set it up so everything lines up with the correct gear on the indicator and then snug it all down. Be careful not to let the truck roll over you while you are down there. It's not hard to pop it into neutral accidently.
