Nice looking system... something I guess I'll have to strive for when I do mine. Any heat issues putting the compressors in a box?
The battery boxes are not air tight and provide plenty of air. The system that I built before this one was on my 2003 F-350 for 16 years and never had a problem with the compressor, I had to rebuild valves once in a while but never touched the compressor.
oasis compressor. basically an electric motor driven york
I have two of those on my garage floor collecting dust. The motor's both started pulling WAY too many amps (over 200) and Oasis wanted $700 to fix one. I had one mounted on my crawler and one in my overland truck.. both motors crapped out within about a year of each other. I just went with the ARB dual compressors. I want to get another for the SD. But those Oasis compressors are beasts!! I should go find an auto electric shop and see what they can do with them.

I'd make you an offer for em, but I'm not near Texas at the moment.
Can you convert them to belt drive and mount on the engine?
Probably cheaper to just get an old York AC head from a scrap yard and make a bracket. They are monsters though, weigh close to 50lbs a piece, capable of 9CFM at 90 PSI. Part of my issue with sending them back for repair was they were going to put new motors on them, which is great, but the new motor was about 4" longer so putting them back in the spaces I had allocated for them was not an option. Mine are the 1000 series IIRC.. only model they sold back then. They ran about $1300 a pop when new about 12-13 years ago. They have a couple newer models if you are interested.
Nice setup Water Junkie, Where did you get the gauge pod..
Thanks wylecoyote! I made the gauge pod, the actual pod is for a VW that was cut down and added to the center section of the dash and covered with vinyl to match the dash.

Thanks, that is what I try to do is make it look like it belongs there.
I have been thinking about making another one and sinking the gauges in further.

Well that's a little dis-concerning... I have one hope it doesnt die on me. thing was expensive.

Well I hope you have a newer one. Mine didn't get used a lot, airing up tires basically. Oasis has since put a fan on the end of the motor so that should help with longevity. FWIW, the one on my crawler was in open air (stretched metal around it) and the one on the overland truck (a Tacoma) was in a tool box in the bed with airflow around it, lid was open during usage. Also, mine lasted about 4 years, and I did change the oil in them even though I doubt I hit the 50 hours of usage for an oil change.

I had twin Viair 480's on the last truck. Seemed to work OK but I let them go with the truck. Did yo find the difference between the 480's and the 485's?
Looking at both and comparing the the ARB dual kit. The ARB kit is higher priced though.
I couldn't tell from the pictures in that link - did you have to drill for those mounting brackets, or use U-bolts? I can see the U-bolts for the tank.
