I have a 1990 F-250HD with dual tanks and the tank switch works perfect and the fuel pumps were replaced a year ago, but the guagees don't work at all I used to wait till it sputtered then switch but that is why I replaced the fuel pumps what could be my problem on the guages???the guage reads about half or a qurter of a tank and never moves.

Well I am selling the f-150 and buying this f250HD just because it is an overall tougher truck the f150 just wasn't up to the task of towing the horses and cattle I was afraid the frame would break into pieces.
But,
this f250HD is single wheel and it has the 10.25 full floater what is involed in making it dually besides the fenders do I just buy 2 more wheels and mount them or what>???
LAST EDITED ON 21-Jan-01 AT 02:17 AM (EST)[p]This will be alot easier. as for the rear wheels, I would pull off a wheel and look at the brake drum. on mine I have two blind drilled holes about 1/4" in diameter. these are for the alignment dowels for the dual rear wheels. You will probably have to buy the dowels through Ford or grab them at the junkyard when you get your rims. Are your lug bolts extremely long? if so then you shouldn't have to change then out, just the lug nuts. The single rear wheel version (SRW) uses a cone shaped lug nut like a normal lug while the Dual Rear Wheel version (DRW) uses a flat based lug nut with a spinning washer. This should have you doing the DRW thing quickly. You will still have to cut the box sides to clear the wheels however. One thing that might be cheaper than buying the fenders and cutting the box sides is to just buy a Box off of a Dually and sell yours. This would give you the factory fenders and be alot less PITA then cutting and pasting fenders. Just a thought though. You might even get lucky and find one that is the right color. Hope this helps. If I can be of anymore help give me a holler.

Do I have to buy new studs and have them pressed in or are these long enough??
also How do you put in the alighnment dowels they are just to hold the wheel right??
LAST EDITED ON 21-Jan-01 AT 01:55 PM (EST)[p]nothing precise really. nie are about 1-1 1/4 " long when measured from the hub if yours are not long enough they are not a big deal to change really. The alignment dowels just press in. One presses into the brake drum and one is built into the outer wheel.
