Brake Calipers

Is there an aftermarket brake caliper that actually works & will not seize up ? !!!! Every year I end up replacing the damn things with Ford calipers !! Is there a reliable option?

I have had good luck with the Ford calipers. Have you regularly flushed the brake fluid?

The last 3 or 4 trucks that had caliper issues I've popped the pistons out, removed the boots and seals, wired wheeled the bores, and reassembled with a high quality brake grease that is fortified with silicone. The two greases I use are CRC SILARAMIC and Napa's Sil-Glyde.
I did a pictorial in a thread awhile ago on the common rust issue and rebuild. I'm not good at finding threads but if I do I'll post a link.
Most that I've seen rebuilt come with little to no grease on the caliper bore lip between the piston seal and dust boot. This lip is what I've seen rusts and makes the piston stick. Usually the actual bore below the seal is rust free and only the lip or flange has to be cleaned up.

I have had 3 complete sets of brake calipers in 160k miles on my X. As a preventative measure, I tend to replace things in complete sets. I currently have NAPA Premium calipers, Russell SS brake hoses, DBA rotors and Hawk LTS brake pads all the way around. Had them for the last 60k miles and am extremely happy with the reliability and performance.

Thanks to all replys. I will check into wire brushing & greasing and see what happens.
