Cold side failure

Yesterday with my 2017, while towing about 12k pulling a hill, my cold side hose blew off the intercooler. Luckily the clamp didn't break and was still there, but I'm not a fan of the cheap factory hose clamps. On a stock truck, should I just upgrage the cheap hose clamps? Or should I consider upgrading the whole cold side assembly?

are you sure it was just the hose. The plastic has been known to be the part that failed for others in the past.

If hose came off, I would start with a new boot and clamp.

Ford I think changed the hose clamps on thye newer trucks. the hose clamp on my 15 is $50 to replace. It has a spring and made from stainless. You could just go to Ford and get a hose clamp from a 15.

I'm not familiar with the new gens but report back to what exactly happened; if it was just the clamp, not tightened enough or the plastic pipe cracked. As for upgrades, here's a quick search I did on EBay:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...+pipe&_sacat=0

As for another more expensive but easier install is H&S Motorsports and SPE's options.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I wasn’t being an ****. It’s not very often you see the solution right below the problem. 😀
