Hey all wanted to let anyone know that's thinking of color matching their chrome trim pieces that touch up direct worked amazing. Just doing my handles, mirror caps, and side emblems. I bought a knock off set of chrome covers just to see if it matched and turned out insane good. Now I will rip my oem pieces off and do them.
Did you buy the caps and paint the handle caps as opposed to painting the factory handle? I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, but haven't gotten around to it.

I bought a cheap set of stick on ones to test before I pulled my factory ones off. Added $25 to the project but wanted to make sure they matched and boy they look great. I am going to do my oem ones this week now. I thought about just throwing the stick on ones on the truck but they don't line up perfect at all. The factory ones pop off real easy

Mine dont have the factory caps, and are all black... I would love to find some other stock ones and paint them, but they for some reason are hard to find and super expensive. I went to school for auto body and did auto body for the first 4 years of my adult life and am set up to do it all at my place as I flip vehicles... not worried about the end result, worried about longevity and outcome unless it’s easy to pull apart the whole assembly. Hmmmm. You’re do look really good though, so it’s got me itching to do it again.

where did you get the door handles? Is there a noticeable difference between them and the ones on the truck? Asking bc I want to buy a set and send to retrocustomz to paint without having to be without my factory covers while the work is done(3 weeks).

I got them from autoanything, they don't cover enough for me. The chrome from the stock ones is very noticeable from the top and front side. Here's a pic with them off. Everyone's different but it wouldn't be to bad for a couple weeks while your were getting done. Attachment 268270

it’s not a big deal to be without the covers. I just did the same with retrocustomz. It’s hard to find just the oem covers separate from the whole handle assembly. I used electrical tape to hold the keyless entry buttons in place and had no issues. Super happy with how it turned out.
I don't think three guys is "everybody". Besides, it's a free country...well, until the Woke Taliban comes after you, so you can like or not like chrome.
