Yeah, braided lines are awesome. It's on my list of things to do when my truck is due for a brake job.

I would go with Power Stop or something like that. The Ford brakes are in my opinion junk even on the F-150’s.

So are powerstop pads made in China like previously stated? Again look at Hawk pads. They are excellent and made in the USA! I'm not sure where the OEM pads are made but I sure wouldn't replace them with some china junk.

Your point is. I use whatever works regardless of where it came from. You cant always avoid it and I dont try whatever I need I get if its made here ok if it aint Im not going to run all over or search the web trying to find something that is.

Cool, I'm not telling anyone what to do. I just try to support stuff made here especially when I can get a superior product made here. I'm sure powerstops are cheaper and that's what's important to most people👍🏻.

I have to say I am really surprised to see all the disappointment on the Ford SD brakes. Honestly that was one of the things I noticed since my first drive in the new truck, was that I was in love with the brakes. I like them so much more than the brakes on my old '04 DRW F350.
To me (and this is just me) the pedal feels rock solid, has good brake torque but smooth, and I dont really notice any dust.

Question: I have a 2wd F350 DRW, are those brakes the same as the F250 and F350 SRW? I assume that all SD are all on the same brakes.

Is it possibly that I'm stopping / slowing slightly less weight with a 2wd truck?
Im genuinely curious.
As a road racer / sports car enthusiast I'm a brake snob, and I love the brakes on this truck.

Cheers

Okay I have ordered the Powerstop brake kit for my 4x4 F350 plus a set of KLM braided stainless hoses. Because of COVID it will be possibly two weeks before I receive the parts, but I’m not in a deadline situation. Just getting prepared. I’ll let everyone know how it improves the braking (or not). Interestingly I just got this month’s Trailer Life magazine, and they have a five page spread on Powerstop brake conversions for tow vehicles and a chart that shows the improvement they experienced on a before and after new Chevy Suburban. Both stopping distance and temps. Stopping distance improvement was substantial at all speeds and temperatures of the rotors improved substantially over stock at speeds of 30 mph to zero but not so much at 45 to 0 or 60 to zero. The improvements were both for solo and towing a seven thousand pound trailer. Impressive.

But does it have guarantee? Sorry I couldn't resist.

I always change to power stop pads to get rid the brake dust and they stop better and 90 percent quieter than stock even made if made in china they work great and barely any dust
even Napa best brake pads are better than stock

You have hydroboost brakes and they feel and act way better than the vac assist used on the SRW trucks. Not sure why Ford did this and the other two brands stayed with hydroboost.

Interesting, thanks for the reply. I had no idea they would be different.
I have been really happy with the brakes on my truck so it surprised me to read about guys needing upgrades.

My experience with slotted dishes is that they chew up pads quicker. Maybe not a big deal, but something to consider.

2003-11 were all hydro boost in the earlier years, 250/350 and up, duality or single. It wasn’t until the 2017 year hydro boost removed from gas 250s and changes every year.
