Says it mounts with a clip and double sided tape, none included. Not sure if I should use 3m adhesive.
Does it need to be trimmed at the ends to fit?
Trying to be sure I know what I'm doing before I screw it up. Going on 1977 F-100 and did not seem to be factory for that year and before.
Seems to be high quality rubber and a great price. Worth checking with them for seals etc.
on my 79, it was held on by weatherstrip adhesive, its possible there was double sided tape at the beginning, but that could have disintegrated at some point. There are no clips. It just kind of drapes across the top of the door, no real defined start/stop point(esp if it never had it originally), so as long as the door shuts, more is better?
BearTracks,
If you pull the trigger and get the top door / along the sides rubber, don't be surprised if you need to cut slits in the rubber to enable better door strike closure. The top / along the side of the door rubbers were included in the kit I purchased, manufactured by Precision products and they continue to seem to be made of good rubber, but I had to resort to slitting the rubber, to allow air to escape, enabling normal force (not excessive) complete door strike closure. And the top of door rubbers are prone to trapping dirt, so they'll need damp cloth cleaned each time you wash your truck.
Have you noticed the door opening rubbers on the 1992-96 Ford Series trucks? The OEM rubber has small openings to allow air to escape, enabling complete door strike closure without having to use excessive force to completely close the door. Lastly, I'm not convinced if the top / along the side of the door rubber reduces wind noise, by design they're suppose, I just haven't noticed if they actually do.
