I am considering buying a 1993 E-350 with a 7.3L Diesel engine. I have never owned a vehicle with Diesel before and would like to know the Pros and Cons before I make a decision.

 

The upkeep on a diesel is more expensive. Depending on your location, the fuel may need to be treated during the winter months. The old 7.3 non-turbo motors were not worth buying IMO as they didn't provide the power/usage compared to upkeep. I'd look for a van with a 7.3 powerstroke in it.

 

7.3 is an old international engine. should be very reliable, even if not overly powerful.
