Carlisle events

Carlisle events..... more sad news...I read that you will not be permitted into the event (fairgrounds) unless you are wearing a face covering!......... the idea of wearing a mask outdoors in 90 degree weather not being able to breath in fresh co2 is amazing to me!....... I guess my body my choice doesn't apply here.....as I identify as a fresh air breather!...... sadly I will not be going to any of the events.and spend money....and my heart goes out to the vendors who make the events a great place to go... I'm guessing this is the new normal in our county....... sad times indeed....

You would think that our governing officials would be better informed given the data that is now available regarding how this virus is transmitted. The virus lives about 90 seconds in the open air with sunlight...what are the chances that anyone walking along outdoors would transmit/receive the virus under these conditions? Sounds like some politicians are doing a lot of CYA just in case the "numbers" go up.

CYA? The PA governor has a lot of that to do! Two-thirds of PA deaths were people in long term care facilities. Governor Wolf did the same thing Cuomo of NY did, sent elderly people with COVID-19 back to their rest homes where they infected other patients.

Your body, your choice is fine if you live in a vacuum. Once your selfishness affects others who want to preserve their health, it is no longer your choice.
Every major health organization in the world Has ruled on the efficacy of proper face masks. Only those who choose not to review the findings continue to claim they are an imposition on their freedom. Those people will become another addition to the 110,000 deaths who fail to heed the warnings. Just watch the virus spikes which are already occurring with the idiots that gather in large groups, and please travel to them now to save the rest of us!

Regards, Mark.

The esteemed Dr. Fauci, the World Health Organization, and many other of our respected health care professionals and organizations have been all over the board when it comes to their advice on the efficacy of wearing masks in public. I think it was just last week, the WHO came out with revised guidelines on masks stating that there was no medically valid reason for a healthy person to be wearing a mask. The only exception was for people providing care for someone infected with the Corona Virus. Interestingly, this week their advice on masks has changed (again).

Please note too that over 1200 our our respected health care professions from Johns Hopkins and elsewhere recently put out an open letter admonishing their fellow citizens that it was everyones duty during these racially oppressed times to ignore their state's "safer at home" guidelines and go out and join the protests (presumably peaceful and otherwise) to show solidarity with Black Lives Matters.

Dr Fauci and our health care professionals have been spectacularly wrong at just about every turn during this pandemic, and it's hard for me to take any opinion they put out seriously. The mortality rate for the Corona Virus is headed down from 2.6 deaths per 1000 and very well may reach a rate similar to the seasonal flu. We don't wear masks during flu season. In fact, less than half the population takes the seasonal flu seriously enough to even get vaccinated against it.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Corona Virus response has been politicalized, and I for one, will not be playing along by wearing a mask in public unless, of course, confronted by hard science or real compelling numbers. For now (for me) the case for everyone wearing masks in public just hasn't been made yet.

Because the mortality rate is low, you won't be playing along? How selfish! There is hard science and real compelling numbers, but you choose to cherry-pick some of the statistics and then politicize your reasoning.
The case for wearing masks has been made scientifically multiple times, but ostrich theorists such as yourself continue on, infecting innocent, vulnerable people.
Walk around frequently in public without a mask, and leave a phone number for your next of kin in your pocket.
Regards, Mark.

One thousand dead per day, and climbing since states began to open up. And now the added risks associated with protests and tear gas. Is wearing a mask and missing out on group events really that much of a hardship? Stu

Agreed that since day one.... nobody (the experts that is) give you a correct answer either way...they flip flop like politicians..... I had no problem with the initial 14 day lock down ...basically house arrest to contain the spread so hospitals don't get over whelmed...14 days has turned into over 70......I'm told by the incharge I must social distance...stay in and wear a mask in public..... meanwhile they release over 16,000 inmates in the whole country....why?...... they where contained...how about give them a mask and stay in jail.....then the same politicians that preach to me go out and protest with no social distancing or no masks..... yea I for one am skeptical...... funny thing is about 3 weeks ago I had a best friend/ car guy....die of a stroke.....only 62 in good physical condition..... I could not attend his funeral....imagine that!..... and speaking to his ex-wife.....she told me that he was tested 5 times for covid!..... she stated they could not give her an answer as to why?...... and he did not have it after the 5th time..... I didn't mean for this to turn political..... just needed to vent
