I've been following the inventory at the local dealerships since the shutdown, and here is the status of the largest dealer around me. Near the end of March, they had about 50 F250s and 10 F350s in stock. They are now down to 18 F250s and 1 F350 with no new inventory coming in. The other dealers are way less, about 5-10 super dutys. I suspect that within the next month this will change but now is a slim pickings time for new truck shopping.
No real surprise, they should start getting new inventory soon but the current inventory is definitely really poor, my dealer has no Superduties right now. In talking with him he said that it is really really difficult to pull off a dealer trade right now because on average there is about 1/3 of the typical inventory on their lots.
I was looking about 3 weeks ago at used and the clean low mileage F350's that had been on lots for 2-3 months and they were all getting snatched up all of the sudden. The one I happened to get ('19 F350) was just traded and hadn't even been cleaned yet. I see the dealer listed the truck I traded in ('15 F350) for $4K more than it was listed for 3 years ago with 50K less miles when I bought it used.
Conversely the 0% deals on new F150's has seemingly cratered the used F150 market. You can get some nice 1-3yr old under 60K mile trucks for well under $30K.
Same here. Local one closest has a NO 350 SRW's. 1 DRW and 4 250's all diesel. next one 30 miles away has 6 SD's of which most are 250's I think two are 350's . and one DRW 2019 350
Just purchased my F-250 last Thursday. Most dealers within a 150mile radius of me had about 4-5 F-250s in stock (10 if you count the work trucks). Was hard finding something I wanted.
My local Ford dealer has multiple vacant spots in the display lot. Dodge is low on selection too. Chevy.....has plenty of trucks to choose from! I don't hate, my DD is a Chevy 1500.
Hardly anything around here, only a handful of 7.3's in 100 miles which is what I'm after. Found a nice STX I like minus the 3.55's. Test drove a used XL 6.7 yesterday, it was sold today, they all seem to be flying off the lots.
I noticed the local dealership has the vehicles parked on an angle and about 6-8’ apart in a effort to make the lot look like it’s full. Back if February they had the parked as close together as they could. I couldn’t hardly walk between them . Then again it could be for social distancing.
Question for those that have been looking. I am trying to find a Tremor F350 Diesel and no real good way of searching for one that I have found. Any secrets or tips to making it easier to find?
