No Crank No Start

96 F-350 4x4
I parked my truck a few weeks ago and haven't started it since. I came out to start it this morning and to my disbelief, it didn't start. I tried to turn it over and all I got was a single click and then nothing happened. I have actually had this happen on two other cars within the past month (gassers) and got the exact same sound. I replaced the starter on both of those and they fired right up. So I went to the store and replaced the starter on this truck and was still getting the same sound. I made sure everything was tight but didn't clean any of the connections, I checked the batteries and they were both over 12.4v. Any ideas on the next steps I should take? I reserved the fender mounted solenoid at orileys and it will be ready tomorrow.

Another part of the backstory is that I recently just installed boost, fuel pressure, and pyro gauges on the truck a couple of days before I parked it. I was getting rougher than usual starts after I installed the gauges but the gauges and truck seemed to be running fine. Thanks in advance!

Let me add a few other things. I had recently replaced the clutch safety switch as the truck is a manual. Also recently replaced ipr and icp. Don't think those would have anything to do with this issue though.

At 12.4 the batteries are slightly discharged. Fully charged batteries should read over 12.6 volts. That said, you should get more than a click with your voltage. Is the click coming from the relay on the fender? Be sure the truck is in park, or neutral if it is a manual tranny, and "jump" the 2 large posts on the fender mounted relay. If the engine cranks over when jumped, the relay needs to be replaced.

Update,

I did exactly what you said and it started up. I swapped out the solenoid and tried it again, the truck started like brand new, best Ive ever seen since I owned it. On a side note, I believe one of the reasons that the truck wasn't starting is because the alternator is on its way out the door. Like you said, the batteries were low and I think that the old starter/solenoid needed a lot of juice to get it going. I will probably be looking into replacing that. Lastly, one of the wires that was connected to the front most post on the solenoid broke off while I was replacing it. I have some pictures below to show which wire Im talking about. Ill get a few butt connectors and fix it tomorrow but Im still curious as to what it is, the previous owner must have cut it and then crimped it back together because it was definitely not stock. And thanks as always.
