Should I do it?

I am considering buying a 1984 F350 crew cab dually with a 7.3L deisel motor. I am inexperienced with such older deisel trucks. Can you tell me if the 7.3L is a solid motor. The truck only has 107,000 miles on it. Does the 7.3L have known problems? What should I look out for? It's not an expensive purchase, but since I'm deisel-ignorant, I don't want to make a foolish mistake.

Thanks,

Dave

I have never heard of anything bad about the 7.3 engines but I know that a 1984 did not come with a 7.3 only the 6.9 liter engine was offered then, so I would be a little concerned with how good of a swap that the owner did for quality reasons only.I have known a few people with both those engines and don't know of any probs with them.Hope that I helped a little....
