Need parts # for u-joint and maybe center carrier bearing on a 75 F250 2wd Supercab shortbed 390/c6/d60? Would like to have ahead of time. Please chime in, was told Spicer 354 were the ticket? Thanks.
From an old Spicer/Perfect Circle book, the center bearing number is 21187X no matter which truck you have.
But the u-joint is a little harder for me to narrow down because it does not list cab type. Only goes by wheelbase. What is a SuperCab short bed's wheelbase? A 138" maybe? Or 140?
But it does look like the two most likely are:
Either a 5-178x if you have 3.875" yokes, or:
A 5-153x for use with a 3.469" yoke.
It does not state on that page, but it sounds like that yoke dimension is the distance across the cross. Cap-to-cap in other words.
But that's just a guess.
Maybe ND will pop in again. Haven't seen him in awhile again.
How does that center bearing assembly look by the way. The diagrams are making it look almost like a double-cardan CV joint since they're so close together. Interested to see pics if you've got some.
