Driveshaft Center Bearing ??

Hey All,
69 F250, 2WD, 360, C6, 2 piece driveshaft with bolt-on flange at the rear of transmission instead of a slip yoke. How hard is it to replace the center bearing or at least the rubber bearing support. The bearing doesn't appear to be bad, but the rubber allows a lot of side to side and up/down play. Is this something I can do myself in the driveway, or is a press required? I'm attempting to eliminate a slight "cyclical" vibration the truck has always had that is beginning to increase. My plan is to replace all u-joints and center bearing but want to do it myself as opposed to spending $150 at a driveshaft shop. The u-joints are a no brainer for me, I'm just not sure about the center bearing and/or rubber support.
Thanks In Advance,
Gene

hey man replace it. while you have the whole shaft off do all the joints also. i know you dont want the shop to do it but its worth it.i can do all that easly, but rather have them do it because i have them balance at the same time. the weights that are on there are never as good as a good driveshaft shop does it. and that balancing goes a long way, and makes a smother ride and less wear and tear on the truck.

Dave,
Yeah, I'm intending to replace the bearing, the main question is, can I do it myself without a press? I will definitely do all u-joints also. That $150 was for the bearing and joints PLUS another $75 for the balancing. I just can't see $150 for $60 worth of parts that I could do in less than an hour. As far as the balance, $75 is a bit steep too, but the best price in town. I've had 2 piece shafts done with all new joints, bearing AND at least one new tube for les than $200. That's why I want to do it myself, and if it still needs balancing, I'll spring for that.
Thanx,
Gene

I think you will need an air chisel to drive the old Center Support Bearing off. And a heavy tight fitting pipe to install the new one. That's how I have done them without a press.
