I have a 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.2L Larit.. package and I had it in for ac repairs three different places but they can't seem to fix it. The Ford dealer in Ruston, LA told me that it is the Expansion Valve. I had it replaced, but that didn't fix it. So when I got home i took it to another Ford Dealer. They told me it needed a AC Compressor Kit with Condenser and the system flushed. So I told them to go ahead and fix it. It was turning cold so I really didn't have a chance to check it out last winter. Now that the weather is heating up, I turned the AC on and it blew cool air for about three minutes and again started blowing hot air again. I turned the temp down to 70 degrees and it would cycle between cool (not cold) and hot. This has cost me a fortune and it is still not fixed. Can anyone on the forum please tell me what could be the problem. By-the-way, they all hooked it up to million dollar diag. machine.
If you have an a/c shop nearby, take it to them for a diagnosis, as they might have more knowledge than the dealer’s mechanic.
Bring your Ford receipts with you so that you can show them what’s been done. If they say the Ford dealer didn’t repair what needs to be repaired, just have the a/c shop fix it - probably cheaper than the Ford dealer anyway since presumably nothing is under warranty at Ford
So you have had the compressor, condenser and expansion valve replaced with new parts, system flushed, vacuumed and refilled with the proper amount of oil and refrigerant? Something tells me that the last dealer didn't pay attention or didn't perform the flush procedure correctly or at all. This is a classic case of the system having junk in it and plugging up the expansion valve.
