Make sure you check the status of that battery before you connect it, these things need good power! I'd say minimum of 850cca each, and that's for a southern climate.

The batteries are connected in parallel, so if one is weaker, it will pull down the other.
If you have a load tester, use it first to ensure they draw equally.
This is also true of dual alternators.
A clamp type DC ammeter will show if they are both equal.
