6.0 transmission remove/install
1. remove the air box and radiator shroud to access the balancer and give you some room to access the converter nuts
2. remove the two plugs giving you access into the bell housing one bottom center and one above the oil pan on the drivers side. This setup is a cruel joke.
3. when there is a stud in the right hand side of the lower opening there will be a stud in the upper opening.
4. my balancer had three 3/8 16 threaded holes. I installed 2" bolts and used these to rotate the engine. I used a big *** breaker bar but a pipe would work
5. grab a bunch of extensions and run along the block into the upper access hole to tighten or remove converter nuts. I had to get the socket on the nuts totally by feel I never found a line of site into the access hole
6. when putting it together I started the converter nuts by hand in the bottom hole and tightened them through the upper hole
7 when the transmission is mounted there is no way to rotate or move the converter forward. another cruel joke ! You need to get the studs to poke through the flex plate while sliding the transmission forward.
