My son has a new 2019 xlt quad cab.Hes had it about 3 months and only has 2k miles on it.Sometimes when he starts it the display doesn,t come on,sometimes it does. When it doesn,t come on if he puts it in reverse it will display the backup camera. When he goes back into drive it goes blank.Anyone ever had this problem?
It is new and will go in to the dealer, problem is around here they keep it for two or three days and then they will say they couldn,t duplicate the problem!

When you say the display doesn’t come on, are you talking about the actual dash display behind the steering wheel or the center stack of the radio display.
If the latter is the case, it sounds like you might have an APIM issue which sadly is a common issue and is known by most if not all Ford dealers.
Taking a pic with your cell phone to show your dealer is useless because the dealer has to actually see the problem in action and in person.
They will not use or rely on said pic or even a video.

You are absolutely right. My alarm kept going off in my driveway at night. FordPass indicated each time that it was the hood switch. I pulled the hood latch, cleaned and lubed and reinstalled. No help. I took it in under warranty and was told that they opened and closed the hood a couple of dozen times but couldn't duplicate the problem. I showed them the list of events on FordPass on my phone. They told me it didn't matter, they had to actually duplicate the problem in the shop.
Unfortunately, the switch is not replaceable separately. The dealer wanted $124 for a new latch. I found the OEM part on line for $80. Took 10 minutes to R & R the latch. No further problems.

i bought a 2019 Explorer XLT new in April 2019
Maybe two months later, the screen was black when I started it. Shut it iff and restarted, but the screen stayed off.
Went to the store, came out about 15 minutes later, started it up and the screen was working.

Well I took a video of my side mirror that had cranked itself al the way to the side and was trying to go farther and was just clicking at the stop. They couldn't to ever act up, I took a video, showed them, they gave me a address at the dealership for me to email it. Called me a few days later and said they had the parts ordered to fix my mirror. they replace all the internal parts.works great. It hasn't repeated the problem over 2 months now, it was doing it 2-3 times a week. all the repair was free, did it all on warranty. So it really depends on the dealer.
