I always thought they were the same as the Super Duty, at least up front. Am I crazy? (Don't answer that honestly)

I think they are too, the front floor pans even have the drivers hump cover plate for the stick shift.
I understand proper ergonomics, and multi point adjustments, but after having my seats all re done and with new seat foams in front, and a better foam backing on the leather, it was night and day for me. I'm definitely more apt to fall asleep driving long distance now than I was before.

The rep did say they give a $100 off each seat for first responders.
Everybody gives discounts for volume sales...that’s just good business practice; selling in bulk. You then have customers doing the selling for you. Understand minimums but to reject the idea without any notion of volume is just silly.

It’s prideful behavior that likely stems from the COVID stimulus, so called hobby businesses have been experiencing lately.

For that reason alone, I’m far more interested in alternative options. Recaro makes a terrific seat and a few that look at home in an Excursion

Yes. I think that is for cloth and/or vinyl. Leather is an upgrade. Don't know how much because I'm a cloth fan and I'm having to sell the idea to the bride. Earlier today, the sunshine ray of hope appeared when she said "they had better be heated."

Had a direct conversation with Scheel-Mann (Russ) out of WA, and the basic seats in cloth are around $5,000 with shipping. Leather is thousands more. Confirmed no interest in group-buy for bulk sale.
All for making a living, but that's outrageous for what you get.

Moving on.

Just purchased a mint set of 2016 F250 seats and center console (that converts to center seat). I'll be making the conversion into our 2005 Ex. Total investment- $1k
Barring any unforeseen install issues, this is likely to be the best bang for buck seat solution for our trucks.

Masterz, where did you score those F250 seats? I see them online for $3,800 and up. Wow. Great deal. Also, I didn't think that gen F-Series seats fit the Excursion. Do you need new seat mounts?

Bought them on EBay. The 16’ seats are the last of the previous generation seats, are supposedly a direct fit involving wiring, and cost significantly less than the latest gen (~$4k+). They’re also more comfortable.

These guys seem to have reasonable prices. I priced a pair with lumbar, and armrest in basic upholstery. The total was just shy of 3500$. I imagine shipping is 200-300$. Sometime it's better to go a distributor rather than the factory. The distributors get the bulk discount. https://www.metaltech4x4.com/brands/...dMann-USA.html

Oh no, I forgot to add heating. That will never do for the wife.

Same prices, just FYI. It was the Vario XXL that I was interested in and referring to- should’ve mentioned that. Russ is the US-distributor for Scheel-Mann but sells direct as well.

Scheel-Mann does give a discount of $100 per seat for First Responders and Veterans. It looks like I'll be installing these the first of the year or earlier if I can sell my motorcycle. I'll give a review after my first long ride. Anything over an hour of sitting in these seats will be a bonus.
