I hope all are doing well considering the circus going on. Going through my boxes of parts and receipts since I've completed "the big stuff" on my truck, I remembered that I got the original Owner's Manual with my truck and it has the original owners information from 1965 filled out inside the cover. What's your thoughts about finding the original owners or their family to show them what's happened to their truck? I know I've had several vehicles I sold and wished I had back but such is life.
That is a really nice idea, I am sure some of the previous owners would be curious as to what happened to their truck.
People are usually surprised when I show the original sales receipt from when I purchased my truck in 68.
I bought my 67 ford from the original owner who is in his 70’s I had the original 67 title warranty information and sales card and everything else I even have the information for when the a/c was installed when the truck had 1500 miles and what’s funny is the guy was happy to see the truck go
Branden, I had the same type story. About 10 years ago my friend was looking for an old ford truck. He found a very nice 66 f250 camper special. It was priced low. My friend wanted me to check it out since I owned a 64 f100 and knew about that vintage of truck. It turned out he was the original owner with all the paperwork. The truck was immaculate. I asked him that it must be real hard to see this go. He gave me kind of a funny look and said “it’s just an old truck” and proceeded to tell me all about the new “super duty” he just bought. I guess to each his own.
...easy for me. I purchased my 66 from my father-in-law and he purchased it new in 66. My wife and her family took camping trips and traveled all over the west in the cabover camper. Dad used it to haul junk and service his rentals until he retired it and I bought it from him. Sadly, he didn't last until it was completely done and was too ill to take a ride in it anyway, but my mother-in-law is very impressed with the result!!
