Torque Pro Issue
You can eather hit back button, or the settings symbol to get an " are you sure you want to close" message. If you leave Torque open when truck is down, when you restart truck you will look at screen it will be froze.
You will then have to shut Torque and Truck down and restart.
i downloaded ForScan and it loads and works with no issue. I got into Torque one time using a program called Two Face that makes a copy that can be run inside that app. After connecting and creating a vehicle profile in Torque, I quit the program and attempted to start it from its original icon. That didn’t work and now if I try from Two Face, that program stops responding.
I read in another forum that Torque Pro can have an issue with full screen mode. My version of Android doesn’t appear to have that setting but I did turn on/off screen rotation. The Torque main screen appears to render fine In horizontal mode but is squished up if you rotate the device to vertical with rotation enabled. It displays correctly in vertical mode if rotation is disabled.

A couple of months ago I tried to use it and my normal OBDII bluetooth adapter on my daughters car, but as soon as I turned the tablet on it wanted to do a firmware update. At my house my WiFi doesn't reach to where I park my truck but I guess I had set it up on her WiFi before. I let it do the update and after that Torque Pro would never connect. I gave up thinking my OBDII device had quit. I tried to get a different OBDII to run with it and it still would not work. I then tried her OBDII with her phone to do what I needed to do on her car.
When I got home I dusted off the other black Friday tablet, let it do the firmware updates and it would not work with Torque Pro. It does the same "Torque isn't responding". Forscan would connect just fine with both tablets.
I later realized that the tablet updated the version of the Android operating system and from searching online I found that the latest version of Torque Pro had issues with the updated version of Android or something. So I ended up buying a new tablet and using my old OBDII device. All is well and working.
Just thought I would share to let you know you are not alone.

And just to show how my luck goes, the new Lenovo M8 tablet that I paid $99 for last month was on sale Saturday 11/14 in the Walmart Black Friday ad for $59.
If I do get bored and try something with the old tablets I will keep you updated.
So this weekend the wife was driving out of town so I let her take the new Lenovo tablet with her in case she had problems and she would have a code reader.
I started playing with the old tablets. I was able to get both of them to load Torque Pro without locking up and asking to close, wait, or send feedback. I was able to find older versions of Torque Pro and install them.
With this method you basically download and install a different program to install apk files instead of using the Play Store. Then you use that app to install the older version of Torque Pro.
Here is the steps for the brave people who want to try it.
1. Google search for a program "aptoide torque pro". I did it on my PC, but you could probably do it from the tablet. I just think I have better virus software on my PC.
2. Currently the 2nd choice Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) Old versions for Android | Aptoide is the one I used. It shows 4 older versions to use.
3. I downloaded 2 of them to my PC. Alternately you could probably just browse with the tablet and download them on it. I later found out that neither of them was actually the real Torque Pro, but the installer program for Aptoide.
4. I hooked the tablet to my PC with a USB cable and made sure MTP(Media Transfer Protocol) was enabled.
5. From Windows Explorer I transferred both files to the Downloads folder on my tablet.
6. I unhooked the tablet from the PC and used a file explorer program on the tablet to go to the Downloads folder.
7. I clicked on one of the files and chose to install.
8. I got a message that the tablet was not setup to install files that are not from the Play Store and asked if I wanted to gamble and risk it all and change the setting.
9. The setting box popped up and I told it I was ok with the risk of installing 3rd party programs and then saved the change.
10. I then went back into the Download folder and clicked to install one of the Torque pro files. This time it installed the Aptoide app.
11. After it installed I opened the Aptoide program. I found the search icon at the bottom and searched for Torque Pro. It found the latest version in the play store, but also had an option to install other versions.
12. I started at the top of the list and tried each one. If it didn't work, I went into settings, apps, and forced stop of Torque Pro, then uninstalled it. Then I went back to step 11 and installed the next one.
13. The first one to succeed in working was version 1.8.205
I used it today to monitor my truck while I made a run to pickup a Black Friday order that was 30 miles away and it worked all the way there and back. I imagine that at some point it will automatically get updated again, so I am unsure if it will stay working. I guess that if you make the tablet as a dedicated monitoring device and keep it off the WiFi, it should stay working forever.
I also see that each older version is uploaded by an individual, not the Torque Pro people, so they may have a virus built in. I just wanted to see if there was a way to get it to work on the old tablets, so I decided to risk it.
Good luck if you try this.
Kevin
