Okay, in cab original tank on a 66 f100. Replaced the fuel sender a couple of months ago and was working fine until earlier this week.
when I go to start the truck it reads correct (3/4 tank) however when I start to get on the road it goes down to empty, takes about a minute, and doesn’t come back up.
I can get it to come back to the correct reading by knocking on the tank/sender
I had the float in water for an hour today and it never got water inside. I also tested sender manually at multiple positions and it read correctly to that’s ok. The gage also works.
so I think it’s hanging up on something but I don’t understand why it drops down only when driving. It doesn’t do this when warming up/ idling or when sitting with engine off
