Water or Bad Fuel In Fuel Tank. Advice?
I have a fuel tank that seems to have water or bad fuel in it. Of course I filled the tank! I noticed the filter light came on and the engine had no power, i pulled over and I thought it was going to die. I changed the tank back to the other tank right away and it cleared up and the light went out. I changed the filter, thinking it was maybe old and clogged, but no change. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to deal with that without having to waste all that fuel and advoid taking the tank off and completely cleaning it.?.? Is the an additives that would help or do the job? I don't want to ruin my engine either. Thanks for any advice.

My light has been coming on too. I have filled both tanks from the same station. First tank ran fine. Second tank has been tripping the light. I drain the fuel bowl for 10 seconds and it will turn off but come back on a after Im running it for 10 minutes or so. My question is... How much damage will I do if I try to burn up this tank and keep draining the fuel bowl as it occurs? Is there anything else I can do other than diesel 911? Anything else I should watch out for? Engine runs fine and filter was changed 6 thousand miles ago

If it's not water, and you don't want to waste the $$$, I'd siphon out as much as you can and top off with good diesel to burn out what's left of the bad stuff after it's been diluted with good stuff. Then on the next several fill ups, add a few gallons to each tank until you've burned all the bad stuff. I'd also throw some additive or 2 cycle in there with the bad fuel.
