I have a 2019 Ford F-150 Platinum 4X4. I want to tow 4 down behind motorhome. I do exactly what the owners manual says to do.
1. Press Engine start/stop button once without touching brake pedal. 2. Press and hold brake pedal. 3. Rotate 4 wheel drive switch to 2H. 4. Shift transmission to neutral. 5. Rotate 4wheel switch from 2H to 4L and back to 2H five times within 7 seconds.
Should show: NEUTRAL TOW LEAVE IN N or Neutral Tow Enabled Leave Transmission n Neutral.
According to the instructions I keep in the truck, the last cycle (of five) will end on 2H. 2H to 4L and back to 2H is one complete cycle. Keep in mind that the instructions I'm referring to are for the Super Duty, not the F-150. But they look identical to me.
Seems like this is one of Ford’s better ideas!!! LOL
A simple “N” button by the 4WD switch would work very well. I think *most* other makes with the electronic shift do it that way.

Nissan doesn't. I agree that N would be helpful. But that would just be way too obvious and guess how many vehicles would be "lost" due to rolling away.

Well, Jim; I guess I was wrong thinking Ford was the only one to over-complicate things then.
