Tow/haul question

I have a 2003 F350 6.0l dually and towing a fith wheel(10 000pounds). I was wondering when towing and the tow/haul is ON, at what speed it should kick in and slow down on it's own? It's seem that I have the slow down by applying the brake and them it kicks in. Is this normal?

Yes, thats normal. You wouldn't want it to come on all the time you had your foot off the go pedal !!

Mine kicks down at 80kph/50mph and then again at 60kph/40mph. I usually leave it on on the highway when I'm towing, but I usually leave it off at very low speeds, like when I'm looking for a spot in a campground. Towing a heavy load in the city, I just leave it on. Saves the brakes. Also I won't turn it on if I'm coasting in gear at 30mph or less, since sometimes it will make a hard bang when the solenoid engages. May or may not be normal, but it's not a problem for me.

I was told by the dealer salesman that the Tow/Haul kick-down reaction depended on the amount of brake pedal pressure. It might say in the owner's manual:
