Sprung Hood??

Looks like my 62 _f100 Flare Side hood hinges are sprung. Do you think I need to replace both hinges or just both springs?

I installed the hood a few days ago and it was fine. During adjustment opening and closing, the drivers side hinge started hanging but I was able to push the backside of the hood down and it would close in the right position. Further working it and I had to start pushing the back corners down every time I opened, then closed it. This morning I closed it and it pushed forward and I can't get it back into position. Any ideas?

Sounds like it's time for a forward opening hood conversion. Kit was only around five bills if I remember right.

The 61-66 hinge assemblies are reproduced. They are manufactured in Brazil and coated with that weird yellowish zinc dichromate and come complete with springs. All the repop places sell the same thing so check the usual suspects and look for a sale or cheap shipping. I have seen them range from $65 each to over $100 each. I bought a pair for one of my trucks and they fit right - and even more surprising the metal was the same thickness as the originals.

I do not remember who I purchased them from. DC, LMC, NPD, Macs, etc. list them for sale. I’m pretty sure they are all selling the exact same thing. 61-66 Ford truck hood hinges are a small niche market so I doubt there are multiple manufacturers making the things. Like I said the $ is variable so check a bunch of places and try to catch a sale.
here is a link to LMC where they say $60 each, but they have high shipping costs....

here is a link to DC for $70 each, but they have flat rate shipping so probably a wash...
