i want some wheels and tires that are 20” but how wide can i go? 10”? i like these which have the 5x5.5 lug pattern, but will they fit? the website says “for older ford f-150s. https://www.bbwheelsonline.com/v-rock-tactical-vr13-wheels-rims-20x10-5x5-5-5x139-7-chrome-24mm-VR13-218524C/##
You missed the important part of the question- what are we talking about here? 2WD or 4x4? And with 20's, overall height might be an issue. What size tires were you thinking?

2wd, tires are 305/30/20 for 20x12 wheels
i’m looking for a street build, so no off-road tires. more of a low profile tire
Without sticking out past the fenders, i think 8 or 9 inches wide is going to be as far as you can go.
Honestly though, as someone with 2 f100 2wd street trucks (slightly lowered), I would not stick 20's on there. It won't look right. I also believe you'll need 4 inch backspacing and the wheels you linked don't have it.

so what mm offset would i need on wheels for them to work? bottom barrel choice would be 4 inch spacers
Offset needed will be different depending on the width of the wheel. For 10" wide rims, you would need -38 to be at 4" backspacing. For 9" you would need only -25. And so on. For the wheels you listed, the -24 offset is a little over 4 1/2" Backspacing. This would mean at least a 1/2" spacer, probably closer to an inch or more given the width of the tires (305 is almost 12" wide!). It seems to me, the widest I have seen people get away with in the front is about a 235 or 245 width tire, assuming you can find a wheel with a friendlier offset or live with spacers. The 305 tires would probably fit the rear, but I am not as familiar with how much backspacing you can get away on that end because I tend to keep my tires all the same size so I can rotate them.

thank you, that’s helped a ton. i appreciate it
would i be safe to do 8-9 in the front with 245 tires and 10 in the back with 285?
also the 9” version of the same wheel had +15mm offset
