back up camera
my back up camera sometimes work and then doesn't. sometimes even says see dealer. when its does not work will be fuzzy or black. what gives. thought these have been around for ever. should not be acting up. 2020 250 lariat. not wanting to take in to parts changers. thanks for any info

Cameras are becoming a big issue on the 20’s. You will find a number of threads on here about issues with pictures of the screens. Bed camera seems to be the biggest issue, but tailgate as well.
might as well take it to the dealer and get in line, parts are back ordered, don’t know if they will just swap to another bad camera or if they have figured out what is wrong with them and the new ones will be fixed.

I had this problem on my '15 F-450. It was a problem with a connector that was located beside the parking brake. If I had the truck in reverse and released the parking brake the camera would go blank or get a fuzzy screen. In this case it was bad connections that was fixed with dielectric grease. I've never looked at my '19 to see if it's the same setup.

There definitely appears to be a bad batch of cameras in the 2020s. Both my bed camera and tailgate camera would stop working intermittently (a 2020 F350 with < 400 miles at the time). The service tech did some fairly extensive troubleshooting (at least based on the detail in the service report), and ended up recommending both be replaced. Unfortunately, the cameras are on back order, so I don't know how soon it will be fixed. They estimated "end of the month", which is this week.
