351w Cam Selection

Hi All,

I was pointed in your direction by some folks over at FSB.com

in rebuilding an 86 non roller 351w in my Bronco and I’m looking for some cam selection help. @pmuller

Specs

Hi Jerry,

One the full size bronco members, Bigblue94 with his 300 6 pointed me in your direction for advice and a cam.

I imagine you’re busy so here is my info;

ATK short block with stock pistons (13cc dish I believe). 4.04 x 3.5 b and s. Flat tappet.

Edelbrock performer intake.

E-street heads 170cc / 60cc, 1.9 in, 1.7 ex https://edelbrock-instructions-v1.s3...brock/5023.pdf

Holley 600 4 barrel

C6 tranny with stock converter

Stock dizzy but that could change

Shorty headers 1-7/16 tubes into 2.5” into single 3” exhaust

35” tires and 3.54 gears. Planning on 4.10 or 4.54 gears in the near future.

Use - daily driver / mild to mid off road rocky trails and hills, mostly low to mid throttle stuff. No heavy towing.

I’m looking for something on the upper end of mild I think but am interested in your advice.

comp cams tech is recommending a 35-238-3

218/224 .05 duration
493/500 in/ex
110 seperation

what say you?

Here is my rig

Thanks and cheers!
