B&W HITCH

I am about to upgrade to a 5th wheel from bumper pull. The salesman(whom I do trust, bought my previous camper from) steers me toward the B&W Patriot 16k hitch and that is more than the camper gross weight. He says I can get one cheaper than he can and he will install for free. I have found one.

Does anyone have one fitted to a 2000-2004 F250? And how do you like it? TIA

Aside from the brand it doesn’t appear to be any different than any other rail mounted 5th wheel hitch, even says it uses the standard rails. Ive got the companion so it mounts in the gooseneck hole in my bed, no rails in the way if I have the hitch out. I love my companion hitch.

B&W makes an awesome hitch. Our slider hitch works great.

The hitch is manufactured north of the Rio Grand.

I am using the Patriot now after a failure with a very old Reese with the sliding bar behind the kingpin. The Patriot is a quality built hitch and has zero movement around the kingpin and is extremely quite compared to the old Reese. The head comes off of the base and it is not bad to load or unload from the truck bed for me. It does fit standard rails. I am very pleased with mine.

I also have the patriot rail mount and love how quiet it is. I never remove mine, just keep it under a bed cover all year. It is not to heavy if I need to remove it.

I had a Pullrite Super Glide, very well made and heavy but I didn't care for the chucking when I made a turn. I outfitted my new truck with a B&W Companion slider. Super nice and well constructed and no chucking in turns. I paid up for this hitch but well worth the money.
