Purge Valve?

While I'm rebuilding, I'm trying to understand what all the parts are and what their function is. I'm stumped on what this is. It's connected to vacuum of course with one of the lines going to the Idle Stop solenoid. I think it's a purge valve but can't find info on it or similar pieces on rockauto or summit to confirm my suspicions

.

I figured out it's a vacuum solenoid valve. Seems to hold some vacuum with slow leak down from the bottom port. When energised it is open. I feel the solenoid part is working as intended however I'm not sure about the closed state with the slow leak. Is a slow leak normal? Are there replacement parts available, I can't seem to find any?

If the valve opens the vacuum source to the device, then if the leak is on the device side, then it's not a problem if the leak is small enough to still allow the device to activate with vacuum. If the leak is on the vacuum source side, again, it should not be a problem until it starts affecting engine operation.

You could try taking the part to your local Ford dealer's parts counter for a replacement. Or go to your local scrapyard to find one.

Could you find a part number on it? Does it control EGR vacuum?

Couldn't find the part number. It ultimately is connected to the idle stop on the carb.

Possibly part of the evap system to purge fuel after shutdown. Hence the connection to the idle stop.
