I haul a truck camper, so my tailgate is off most of the time. So, I’ve been looking at tailgate nets/mesh. Most of the ones I’m seeing don’t look to impressive. Anybody use them and have suggestions? I’m also looking at the steel/aluminum mesh tailgates as a lighter, easier to install option over the regular tailgate. Input on them would also be appreciated.

I hear ya! I run around without a tailgate most of the time. granted it's a piece of cake to put the tailgate on and take it off. However I start to wonder how many times will the electrical connections will tolerate being taken apart.
A mesh style tailgate would fit the bill for me.

I’m an old guy, with a bad back. The built in step makes the tailgate a little heavier than I want to handle regularly. I just don’t want to ding things up. A net would be a lot easier for me. I’d only install the tailgate when I’m sure I’m not hauling the camper for awhile. I worry about the electrical connectors too. The bed camera is already on the fritz.

Drothgeb, "Ditto" - I just turned 70 in April, have two Titanium Rods, four Titanium Screws in the Lumbar region of my spine and have the same tailgate! I think I'm feeling the same as you Buddy! My camper is usually on the truck a lot more often, but lately, with most campgrounds closed, it's sitting beside the garage! I've been "Daily Driving" the F-450 for a change, but again, that beast of a tailgate is wrapped up in a moving blanket in the garage! I'm not about to drag it out, not knowing when things are going to open up! I bookmarked a Covercraft ProNet on Amazon... they used to use them at the Baja 1000 Races - 22 oz. Fabric?
