Can I change the venturi assembly on a 2150 carb to gain some cfm? I have a carb with 1.23 for a code and wondered if a different venturi [from a 1.33 carb] would do anything. Could there be any aftermarket venturis available?
First of all, if the booster venturis from a 1.33 carb are bigger than the ones in your 1.23 carb, they might actually reduce the airflow in the 1.23 carb because they intrude more in the main venturi flow path.
Furthermore, there are several features of the booster venturi assembly that are critical to the carb's calibration (or tuning), so the booster venturi assemblies from different versions of the carb are not directly interchangeable. Switching booster venturi assemblies between two carbs with different calibrations could really screw up the carb's performance.

Thanks for the reply BubbaF250. My computer isn't taking me to the thread, only to the forums. I tried some searches and didn't find the exact spot though. I'll keep trying but maybe you could direct me abit further.
Thanks BubbaF250, I just found it. I have been looking at local salvage yards for a 2150 coded 1.33. I have been tempted to go for a 500 cfm 2v Holley or some such, but from some of your postings it seems I aready have a good carb. Presently I have a 2150 coded 1.23 rebuilt and working very well. Will the 1.33 give me a noticeable gain below 3500 rpm? Were there any larger 2150's?
