well a 289 is a v8 and a 300 straight six is all in a line there’s a big difference between them is you’re motor in a line or does it have 4 spark plugs in each side

Search & find a drive shaft shop. Several years ago I took my 66 to one after I had changed from 3 spd to C6 and had a 1 piece shaft installed. Never had a problem with it, even with a 1,000 lb load.

I have a driveshaft set out of a 1966 LWB with the 352 and 3 speed. Measure your front shaft, overall length. If it's the same, I have what you need. you can have both pieces for $40 plus shipping. U-joints are good, carrier bearing needs to be replaced.
