Pyrometer stopped working.

Running it through my DpTuner Infinity. Not sure if its a monitor issue or probe problem. All wiring looks OK.
Can any body walk me through testing the probe?

If you can get at the wires for the probe, maybe do something like this video does, and measure the resistance change with heat applied.

This removes the Infinity from the circuit, and you can verify the probe only. Could leave it in the truck, and just start measuring with the truck cold. Start it and see if the resistance decreases as it warms up. Simple test just to see if the probe works, not to calibrate it to an accurate temp curve.

You just want to see if the probe is working at all, right?

Here's an FTE link on the subject. Some EGT probes generate a small voltage (millivolts) when heated.

Probe shows continuity and volts climb as i increase rpm. Thinking probe is good.
Whats this. And how do I test it?

That is what we engineers call a doohickey. Almost all doohickeies are proprietary and cannot be tested. Their sole purpose is to be a continuing revenue stream for the manufacturer because you have to buy a new one on a regular basis.

I keed I keed. Seriusly though, that says DP Tuner on it so I would call DP Tuner up and talk to Jody.

lol.
No doubt.
I did figure out its some sort of amplifier.
I'll call jody but he's no longer authorized to work on the infinity tuner. Or something like that.

Allow me to revise my statement:
That is what we engineers call an obsolete doohickey. Almost all obsolete doohickeies are proprietary and cannot be tested nor is there any point since you cannot get them any more. Their sole purpose is to be a continuing revenue stream for the manufacturer because you have to buy a new one on a regular basis frustrate the ever-loving crap out of you.

Well, I would still call Jody since it's a DP-Tuner branded item. That's probably an add-on of his own to the Infinity.

Spoke with Jody.
You can set the formula for the tuner to convert volts to temp. Apparently my formula was wrong.
Corrected the formula and all is good.
