The other day I was driving down the road with the fan on high and it all of a sudden stopped working. I have done some checking online. If it was the resistor the fan should work at some speeds and if it is the blower motor going out it should be making some kind of noise. My question is could the blower or resistor be bad or is there something else I need to check. This is on a 2005 F250 King Ranch. Thanks for the help.
In addition to the things projectSHO89 mentioned, with the truck running and the switches turned on, try hitting the outside of the casing with something (like your hand, you're not trying to break it) or slamming your door. If it starts then, the motor is going out and that shock breaks it loose enough to run until it seizes again. I've gone through 2 motors on my 02. Good thing they are easy to get to on these trucks.
As far as the relay goes, did they move the relays back off the fuse block in the 05s? My 02 has the mini relay on the fuse block for things like the fuel pump and the blower, etc. Those are not replaceable and I had to reroute a circuit to bypass those and put my own relay in place for both of those. I think you might be lucky and they did away with those little embedded relays after 03.

Uh, no. The blower relay, which is of interest to THIS thread, was never "embedded". Starting in the '02 MY, the relay moved from it's previous location behind the radio into the CJB as a plug-in component.
Sorry it has been awhile to get back. I have check the fuses and relay, and they look ok. So am I down to the blower motor and resistor as the possible problem? The truck is equipped with the auto climate control if that helps any.

Pop the hood and give the blower motor connector a wiggle. This happens to my excursion from time to time. Seems to be good for about 6 months after

test light, first check for power at blower motor, on high, med, low then test light to 12v and check blower motor ground. The pigtail can burn up and the blower terminal can melt. If nothing, check the blower resistor for power coming in, pull it from the dash and see if it is burnt and or the heater box has trash build up in it. Also pull the dash switch and look if it is burnt there, again test for power.
