my blower works but has no high speed,so its almost useless.....any ideas what the problem might be? i hate to replace the blower moter just for that..its probly some electrical short or something,,anyone have any knowledge of this problem??
YOu can buy the blower fan at auto zone for around 20 bucks i believe. Its like 3 or 4 bolts on the firewall to swap it out. Very easy. If it doesnt fix it then check into the switch / contact points on the **** itself. goodluck
i pulled em off..the resistor is not available have to try junk yard..but there was a lotta junk in the space where the resistor went in..leaves etc.. i think a mouse made his home there all winter lol gonna start with the resistor and go from there
Clean out the box before a new resistor. You can take it apart under the hood and inside the cab to vacuum everything out. Unlikely a mouse, just stuff falling in there from the unscreened cowl.
You can repair the resistor. Do a search here. You will find the topic with the Radio Shack part#.
Did you do a R-134a retrofit or did you use R-12 or R-12 equivalent? I have to get the stuff to either retrofit mine or something. Finding R-12 can be interesting... and expensive.
