stream from your phone, and get high fidelity, not tin can sound! Pandora, I heart radio, spotify, google play,
It's unreal how much better they sound...
I don't pay for unlimited data. My cell phone bill is already too much at $20.00 a month.
My ears can't tell the difference, I'm not an audiophile.
While traveling around the country there are many areas without cell coverage and/or radio stations.
$5.00 a month for a reliable radio for background noise while traveling is worth it to me. If I stayed around a big city and never went anywhere I would not have Sirius, but for traveling constantly, it works for me.
I would just never pay for it. It sounds like garbage. I wouldn’t use it if it was free.
When satellite radio first came out it was close to CD quality. What they’ve done is continue to cut the bitrate so they can add more channels and now it all sounds like you’re listening to hold music on the telephone. I listen to FM or MP3’s on a thumb drive or stream from my phone.
FM is not available in many parts of the country.
In order to get any amount of MP3's you need high speed internet to download them.
I don't pay for unlimited data on my cell plan.
Last yr i paid for a whole year. $120.19
this yr they send me a bill for 234.59.. and want me to renew... yikes
Whats everyone paying for xm.
I’m not sure if they’re negotiating now considering everything that’s going on but usually if you call them, and you should, and tell them that you’re “considering” canceling your service because of other options in the market, they’ll usually come up with a better deal than what you received and maybe even less than what you were paying.
With that being said, when I called them a few months ago and a week before my subscription expired, they offered me a deal that in my opinion was too good to pass up.
I get all access which is every channel plus video channels and streaming all for less than $11.00 dollars per month and they gave me something for free that I’ve never used and it’s still in the box......a black Echo Dot.
This Echo Dot was a promotion offer so I’m sure it’s expired by now.

Yep
They bank on the people that forget or just dont realize they can negotiate the obscene pricing down. Cut them loose years ago and never looked back, they are the worst,
I have been trying to find a Chanel that I like on Sirius during my free trial. But I keep going back to my local stations 105.7 and 106.7. I prefer them to anything I have found on Sirius. Maybe if a traveled out of state more I would feel different. But I don’t see any need for Sirius radio.
I canceled at the 6 month point and they begged me to come back with a $2/month subscription for 3 months. Sure, I said and canceled again before 3 months was up. I get a mailer every couple of weeks asking me to come back for $5/month. I don't drive the truck enough to really justify it. I listen to my favorite podcasts and don't plan to renew unless I become truck driver in Wyoming (extremely unlikely) where radio and internet reception is far from stellar.

This is it, exactly.
If I never left my home town I would never use Sirius, even if it was free.
But, for those that travel often, it is very convenient.
I bought lifetime back in 2008 for like $400. I think it was around $10 a month then and I planned to keep that truck at least 6 years. Like everyone mentioned I wouldn’t pay much over $5 as there is other apps you can get.
Its a bitch to transfer it vehicle to vehicle so I just use my phone app. Carplay doesnt work too well with the app, pandora is much easier. I like SiriusXM for the news channels if I am driving in the evening. Sound quality is way better off the phone app.
The person who bought my old truck probably still has access to it but when I had it occasionally the satellite signal would ‘drop’ and you would have to call and ask them to hook it back up
It's actually easy to swap online these days. Click your active subscription, and hit option swap radio.
The last time I renewed, I had to work some to get full access. They were fine with the super low price for the truck but not including full access. I listen more on my phone and PC. When working for home, they have a few podcasts that I enjoy.
I use a streaming service for music via my phone. This way, music is portable, and not tied to one receiver, like in a truck. I drive more than one vehicle, so to get satellite radio in them all, it gets pricey, quickly. Plus, I cannot stand modern contracts.
With the streaming service I can search for, and make playlists for almost any music I want. Some is even downloadable to the phone so it can be sourced local to the phone if cell service is non-existent.
Beyond that, I have thumbdrives I can throw on random, and just let it go, with zero chatter or other BS that you end up paying for with a contract.
Just posting for those who are on the fence about paying for music.
Just canceled Sirius over the weekend. I've switched to Google Play Music/Youtube Music on my phone. Only had Sirius in the truck, and I like to have tunes at work and while in my shop and in the tractor.. I don't have an unlimited plan - just 5Gig/month.. and its surprising how LITTLE music streaming uses.
