Headers and Exhaust
I've recently happened upon a '77 f150. Only thing is, it has a 429. The exhaust manifold was broken and rewelded at some point in its life and is now splitting the weld and of course, exhaust leak. In the market to replace with headers and subsequent exhaust. It is 4wd so i need to account for that. Looking to go with 1.75" into 3" collector ( I like the deeper sounds ). Any advice on brands and their pros/ cons? Not looking to spend too much yet.

4wd matters, manual or auto trans matters. Duel front shocks....That truck never came out with a 429/460 in a 4wd until the 80's.
Inside the frame rail exit can be a giant PITA and have front d/s clearance and cross member clearance issues. Outside frame rail exit has its own challenges, but not as bad.
Shorties, block huggers can cage and cook a starter. So think heat shield. Have you priced a replacement exhaust manifold?
To make headers fit modifications are likely. This is especially true with engine swap headers. You can view the reviews on our site for these. You'll see 1st hand fitment notes from our customers.
