Code 172...Clues

Havent had the truck long but she runs and drives perfect. I bought it primarily to move my boat around from time to time. I've driven her about 1,000 miles and got all the bugs worked out. One code, 335, which I havent worked out yet.
I hooked onto the boat/trailer for the first time to take it in for service. The return trip was in warmer weather, over 90 degrees. Truck ran perfect and handled the boat fine (about 8,000 lbs total). As I was accelerating on the freeway onramp, I noticed a little pinging and then the CEL came on. Went back off after a few minutes. Then came back on and stayed on...again, all guages normal, and running perfect.
launched the boat and when I restarted the truck the CEL didn't come back on. Then on the way home, running empty (no boat or trailer) i was running about 70 mph on cruise control, AC on, hot day of 95 degrees. On a freeway incline, I noted a little more pinging, not too bad, and the CEL light came back on. Code is 172, O2 Sensor.
Does the hot weather and pinging mean anything to this? Suggestions? Feedback?
Thanks!
Dan
Plugged fuel filter, fuel pump on its way out or bad FPR.
DTC 335 indicates the PFE/DPFE sensor is out of Self-Test range.
Possible causes:
-- Damaged PFE/DPFE sensor.
-- Obstructed pressure inlet hose(s).
-- Garage exhaust ventilation system affecting PFE/DPFE sensor operation.

If one of the possible 172 issues being the fuel pump, if I run it on the second tank and it still does it, would that eliminate a fuel pump issue (unless both pumps are bad)? I'm moving it again today and cleared codes last night, but it's not nearly as hot as it was.
Thanks,
Dan
to me, that would eliminate pumps and point me to the FPR, right? Maybe filter?
