Ok so I personally have never been a fan of the old Ford Blue interiors that they put in our truck. I'm a Tan or Red guy my self. Not a better interior then the that soft velvet red interior, at least to me anyways. I however got a great deal on my latest Bullnose amd scooped it up even though it had the blue interior. So now come the fun who has red and like the blue trade swip swap we both cover our own shipping I'm going to have my seats redone on my own but when they are you can have the cover which are in great shape see pics I'm mainly looking for the top and. Bottom dash the rear trim piece maybe my dash parts are in near perfect shape minus the faded burlwood part but the dash pad amd lower dash are great. Either that or I'm going to start doing the interior painting thing and leave myself with a lot work and a wife shaking her head at me. If I go the paint route what are some of the paint you guys have used and your experience with them.
A perfect dash pad like that is going to be hard to come by. I think I would have to get used to the blue myself. Sort of like the aqua and the rose colors of the 50's. The blue makes it period correct. You don't see the blue being made anymore.

Yeah I could get used to it if I had to but if I have the option I gotta do it. I'm not in a rush to do it at all. But it's one of those itches that you just cant quite reach.
My previous bullnose was in my opinion a work of art. I bought it for $500.00 from a fella a block down the road from my old house. It had been sitting on street for a few months. I got the itch one day and went down to ask about it he said it had transmission problems but ran great. It was an 86 XLT Lariat with the 5.8 FI 4x4 with all the bells and whistles. It started clean sounded very smooth it would go in drive but would not shift out of first. So I played for it and drove the block home in first. As soon as I got home I slid underneath it to see if the linkage was good amd low behold the trans vacuum module had come disconnected from the vacuum line. Slipped it back on and everything shift so smooth and crisp. I drove it back down to him and told him. He said well I guess that how it goes. Real nice fella though. I had to sell it to buy my diesel dually so my wife and I could tow our 5th while we traveled for two year. I kick myself every day for it though.
Deep breath, guys! He's just yanking our collective chain, having some fun at our expense. It's probably a picture circa 1986, when the truck was brand new. No other possible explanation. There's no way a 34 year old dash pad could look so good...

Ha Ha going for the long con. (Shify look while twirling my thumbs)
Has anyone done anything with "new after market dash pads" out there. Quality? Fitment? Worth it?
I installed one in a customers truck. You will have to remove the clips from your old dash pad as the reproduction ones do not come with them. But they fit perfect and look right.
This is the white one we got for the '82 I built with the 5.0 Coyote at work.
And this is after I sprayed it with the SEM adhesion promoter and the SEM buckskin upholstery paint/dye.
SEM is the same stuff I used on my black door panels I picked up from Dennis-Carpenter for my '82 and will be the same stuff I will use when I get my dashpad. I will be getting the black dash pad since my interior color is Midnight Blue.
Only thing is the reproduction pads do not have screw holes in the defroster vent region. I will be correcting this myself by using my old pad as a pattern to drill the dash pad out. The washer headed trim screws ford used will cover the hole up if I have to drill slightly larger to get the screws to line up.
LMC sells them unless they went to just black. Dennis Carpenter sells them also as well as NPD. I'd personally will pick mine up from Dennis Carpenter or NPD.
